Here is a link to a recently released New York Times article on Dwarf Fortress as a lead up to the Talk to Me exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art that includes Dwarf Fortress.
@SoreLosersGaming: It is a very demanding game, but hopeful it will eventually get a good gui and controls which would solve so many problems.
But some of the hard core fans actually seem to think this is a bad idea so it is hard to say for sure when of if.
But as far as I am concerned Bay12 seems to make more then enough money to hire a graphical artist and a GUI expert if they are unable to do this themselves so I do not know why little to no progress has been made on this issue.
Also the game really seems to need some sort of wheel barrel/wagon/mine cart system to move large quantities of stuff at the same time.
But regardless the game is still worth playing, even if you have to spend a few days researching how to play before you should even attempt to play.
That's a good article on DF. I don't have the patience for that game, but those pictures are amazing!
ReplyDeleteRead it yesterday and -like you- found it really interesting dear Jonathon. Who knwos, maybe I'll give the thing another go when I find the time.
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking of doing that myself.
